USGS National Wetlands Research Center Director Bob Stewart watches Alex Knijn, age 6, receive a prize from contractor Susan Horton for his winning entry in the Center's 6th annual Acadiana Migratory Bird Day poster contest. More than 220 students from 16 Lafayette pubic and private schools participated.

Brady Higginbotham, 11, intensely watches the blue-winged teal that Clint Jeske, research wildlife biologist, displays at the awards ceremony for winners of the USGS National Wetlands Research Center's 6th annual Acadiana Migratory Bird Day poster contest. The blue-winged teal was one of the migratory birds that contest participants could choose to draw and research.
