Intertribal Workshop on Climate Variability: USGS National Wetlands Research Center Ecologist Kate Spear attended the Oklahoma University and South Central Climate Science Center Intertribal Workshop on Climate Variability and Change held July 17, in Sulphur, Oklahoma. The SC-CSC has scheduled a series of five regional workshops designed to educate tribal environmental managers on climate change impacts and conservation strategies. Each one-day event will also document the needs and capabilities of the region’s tribal nations related to climate, ecological, and water data, and to expand and enhance the conversation about climate change between researchers and tribal leaders.
