  • Informational Session on Flow Cytometry Given to U.S. FWS Staff: NWRC Microbiologist Jill Jenkins gave a WebEx presentation to staff with the U.S. FWS LaCrosse Fish Health Center on June 20. The session covered flow cytometry principles of operation and how to use this method when addressing problems of importance to natural resource managers. Jenkins included practical examples where she used flow cytometry with Asian carp. (Jill Jenkins; Lafayette, La.; 337-266-8607)
  • NWRC Scientist Delivers Plenary Talk on Mangroves at International Meeting: USGS NWRC scientist Karen McKee will present a plenary talk at the international meeting on Mangrove Ecology, Functioning, and Management to be convened in Galle, Sri Lanka July 2-6, 2012. Her presentation, Mangroves in a Changing Climate, will set the stage for a post-conference workshop aimed at identifying research gaps through joint fieldwork, analyses, and brainstorming. The area around Galle was affected by the 2004 Asian Tsunami. (Karen L. McKee; Lafayette, La.; 337-266-8662)
