Very small, terrestrial, non native frog. Most likely introduced with plants imported from the Caribbean. Two different patterns occur—striped, with light, longitudinal stripes or mottled with irregularly occurring light and dark markings. Skin is brown with red undertones. Eyes have a red tint. Toes are unwebbed, long and slender with well developed tubercles at the joints and sticky tips. Individuals are generally observed moving around only at night or in rainy conditions. Call is a short, melodious chirp and usually occurs in a series of four to six. Commonly mistaken for a bird calling. All development occurs within the egg, so there is no larval stage. Species occurs in cities around the State.
